Survivors of Voyage of the Damned Gather for Apology
More than 60 years after being turned away from Florida the SS St. Louis survivors met in Miami Beach to seek apologies and remember those who died. Speakers urged acknowledgment of the U.S. refusal and the broader Holocaust tragedies as 250 people gathered outside the Holocaust Memorial and the event included shofar blasts and tributes.

Some parishioners favor ending the festival while others want it to continue, funding projects like a church roof and serving as a community builder. She and her husband may assist if others step up to chair the event.

NCS Offers Costs and Tuition Voucher After Ruling
Judge Oletsky noted the cost of pursuing individual lawsuits could deter claims and that NCS may compensate legally cognizable out of pocket expenses. NCS offers include tutoring, books, mileage, lost wages and a $1,000 tuition voucher. Plaintiffs argue the error affected multiple students and warrants more than reimbursement, while Hakensen says such an issue is unprecedented. NCS Pearson facilities in Iowa City provide testing and data management services.
