Linn County to fund Mercy Sedlacek Detox Center
Linn County will pay Mercy Hospital's Sedlacek Detoxification Center up to 53,177 for treating county residents who cannot afford care next fiscal year. Officials said the program prevents jail crowding and ensures intoxicated suspects receive proper treatment, with the county paying 130 per day for 409 patient days.

A 73 year old Center Point woman reports her purse taken from a parked car near the Babyland section of Cedar Memorial Cemetery. The assailant, described as a clean cut white male about 20, fled in a nearby car toward Collins Road NE after striking her. The purse contained checks and $50.
