Antique Auto Meet in CLR This Weekend
The Antique Automobile Club of America will hold its central division opting meet in Cedar Rapids this weekend with a caravan to Amana Friday. More than 100 cars will participate in the tour and 250 cars entered for judging at Kirkwood Community College starting 10 a.m. Saturday. Vehicles hail from 23 states including Maryland New Jersey Pennsylvania and Wyoming. A 1931 Pierce Arrow arrived from Grand Forks North Dakota. the oldest is a 1903 Oldsmobile and three Duesenbergs may fetch 100 000 to 220 000 each. Public exhibition runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kirkwood with free admission.

Sturgeon Seeks To Overturn His Sentence
Convicted counterfeiter Thomas Sturgeon filed a civil suit in Cedar Rapids federal court asking to overturn his 10 year sentence. He was found guilty in September 1973 after a three day trial and is imprisoned in Terre Haute. He alleges illegal jail detention, jury influence from numerous charges, and errors in the pre sentence report he could not view before submission to Judge Edward J. McManus. He previously appealed but the Eighth Circuit denied relief. The Supreme Court declined review.

Fire Truck Collides With Car Near Twin View Heights
A Solon fire truck rear ended a car driven by E. T. Riley while both were on Highway 382 near Twin View Heights. Riley, traveling west, tried to pull onto the shoulder as the fire truck approached from behind and then proceeded to the reported fire scene.

Farm Price Index Rises 16 Points at May 15
Des Moines UPI Iowa farmers received higher prices for all farm products with the index at 205 percent of the 1967 base, up 16 points or 8 percent from mid-April. Hogs beef cattle and calves and lambs climbed from three months earlier while soybeans hay wheat sheep and milk fell. The crop index slid 4 percent to 218 percent but remained 12 points higher than a year ago.

Juveniles Apprehended in Hazleton Break-In Attempts
Four youths, three boys and a girl, were taken into custody by Buchanan County deputies after alleged attempted break-ins at Brewington's Circle Foods, J and M cafe, and a mobile home, plus theft of pickup truck Polaris shares. Meier Arrested In Pizza Hut Robbery
Randy Lee Meier, 20, of 2656 Worthington Drive SW, charged with robbery with aggravation after a Pizza Hut heist at 1620 First Avenue NE last Thursday. He was arrested after a police officer spotted him matching the suspect description near the restaurant. The robber used a sawed off shotgun to take $233 with 25 to 30 customers present. none noticed during the crime.
