Labor Groups Push New Farm Policy To Curb Corporate Control
In Des Moines the Iowa AFL-CIO urged a national farm policy to save the family farm and curb corporate farming. Proposals include exports controls, price stabilization steps, a graduated land tax, direct payments to noncorporate farmers, and an expanded federal food stamp and storage program. The federation called for a national food reserve and farm organization to meet domestic and foreign demand.
