Public mood shifts as calls for new deal grow amid tax debate
A writer criticizes Iowa leaders for proposing a state income tax amid high federal rates, arguing it would crush business and fail to create jobs. The piece laments Congress as indecisive and overbearing, claiming a broader demand for reform and a new approach to revive the economy. It portrays Washington as a mix of ideologies, with capitalism under pressure and the need for intelligent leadership to avert further budgetary harm.
