His wife Betty battles cancer and a medical bill burden that could exceed 30 thousand dollars, with ongoing costs he cannot cover. They rely on Social Security and small wages, unsure where funds will come from as health needs grow.
A mahogany Chippendale secretary and bookcase from the 1760s sold in New York for $12.1 million, a world furniture record. Harold Sack bought the piece after a quick three way bidding duel. The desk, attributed to Newport cabinetmaker John Goddard, was made for Nicholas Brown of Rhode Island and stands 113 inches tall.

Fawn Hall told the DEA she used cocaine many times between 1985 and 1987 while working for the National Security Council and the Pentagon. She said she could have used the drug as many as 40 times and provided names of alleged drug peddlers. Indictments are expected, though Hall is not a target of the probe.
A California distributor will stop selling a pistol shaped juice package named Chilly Bang Bang after receiving many complaints. Mackie International general manager Michael Sy said the product, costing 35 cents and on the market less than two months, will be discontinued. New York State Senator Nicholas Spano urged legislation to outlaw firearm shaped foods, calling the product disgusting and warning about teaching children to put gun barrels in their mouths.
