Former POW Air Force Captain Edward Brudno, released from captivity last year after seven years in North Vietnam, died at his wife’s home. Police reported a plastic bag over his head and a French note translating to life not worth living. A Newton psychiatrist had treated him recently and said he had been despondent since his return. Brudno, 32, left a will and nine letters, and his mother in law described him as despondent. Further medical tests were ordered to determine cause of death.
