George Kopetsky aged 45 of 1821 Third Street SW was arrested by Patrolmen Funcke and Kofron at 8 30 p m Saturday and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Frank Svec of 1020 First Street SW reported hearing a crash and found Kopetsky had struck the rear of his car. Kopetsky stopped and offered to pay for damages as officers arrived. Officers said Kopetsky, with a case of beer in his car, was so intoxicated he needed support to walk.
Former Federal Circuit Judge Martin T. Manton was found guilty by a federal jury of conspiracy to obstruct justice and deprive the United States of impartial services. He faces up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine. co-defendant George M. Spector also convicted and bail set at $10,000 for Manton and $17,000 for Spector.
