Youth questioned in extortion plot over Dietrich daughter
A young former motion picture worker faced questioning in Beverly Hills regarding an extortion scheme aimed at Marlene Dietrich and her daughter. Letters switched between Dietrich and Mrs. Egon Muller exposed demands up to 20 000 dollars and threats to a child. Police say suspects are inexperienced criminals while guards were assigned to Dietrich and family. A French liner under construction in St Nazaire, 1020 feet long, with four propellers, is touted as the ocean’s largest on the way.
