Home Adapted for Future Care Needs in Philadelphia Area
Trish and Harry Heiser expanded their suburban Philadelphia home to 2,100 square feet with a 575-foot deck to accommodate Trish Heiser’s limb-girdle muscular dystrophy. They hired Interiors for Independence founder Marlene Weiner to design barrier-free features inside a $75,000 to $80,000 renovation, much of it done by the homeowners themselves, including higher counters and wheelchair-friendly layouts to ease daily tasks and future mobility needs.
