Eight year old John Gary Cole, son of Mr and Mrs John W Cole, died from injuries after a bicycle fall on a gravel road in east Manchester. He was taken to hospitals in Delaware County and Iowa City where he died on arrival. He was born October 4 1949 and survived by his parents two sisters and a brother. Services were set for Tuesday at 1 30 p m in Shelly funeral home.

Youth on Motorcycle Collides with Tractor in Cedar Rapids
All-year-old Cedar Rapids youth William Walter Jr. rode a motorcycle into the side of a semi-trailer tractor on E Avenue NW in front of the Wareco warehouse. He was found at home and reported in fair condition at Mercy hospital with fractures to both wrists, burns, and multiple lacerations. The impact moved the tractor several feet. Police learned of the crash after Walter crawled home.
