ISU professor leads chaplain opposition
ISU religious studies professor Hector Avalos campaigns against a full time student chaplain at Iowa State, arguing a church presence on the football program would favor one faith. He notes a petition with 112 signatures, while supporters say the move preserves university inclusivity and nonreligious ideals. The college athletics council has until Aug 1 to review the matter.
