Judge asks to be removed from case in Nevada burglary case

Sentencing for Nathaniel Taylor, convicted of burglary and domestic abuse, delayed after Judge Carl D. Baker asked Second Judicial District Chief Judge Ronald Schechtman to appoint a replacement. Baker cited alleged critical remarks by attorney Van M. Plumb of Des Moines and sought a new judge. Plumb denied making the quoted remarks and said he was misquoted. A new hearing date will be set once a replacement judge is appointed. Taylor was arrested last December for breaking a van window and pulling his pregnant wife through the broken glass.
