Nixon plans for nuclear strikes in Vietnam book claims

Seymour Hersh reports in The Price of Power that Nixon and Kissinger drew up secret escalation plans including bombing and a ground invasion of North Vietnam and possibly using nuclear devices on Ho Chi Minh Trail routes. The plan allegedly included a 29 day SAC alert and a warning to negotiate by 1 November.

Iowa utility urged to refund $10.26 million over nuclear plant repairs

The Iowa Commerce Commission staff said Iowa Electric Light and Power should refund $10.26 million to customers for Duane Arnold Energy Center repairs, far above the company’s $2.8 million proposal.
