VITA volunteers help area residents reclaim 2.8 million in refunds
United Way of East Central Iowa said volunteers in a five county area helped prepare 2,025 tax returns for 2024, returning more than 2.3 million in federal refunds and over 480 thousand in state refunds. Ninety sites, 78 volunteers, and 5,158 hours supported by Transamerica and Wells Fargo enabled free tax help and education across Benton Cedar Linn Jones and Iowa counties.
