Johnson County votes to reject $1 million DHS payment
Johnson County Supervisors, in a 3 2 vote, refused to send a $1 million rebate to the Iowa Department of Human Services saying it would comply with rebate language only if a new law requires it. The county may lose $3.6 million in potential funding and face service cuts if the bill becomes law without the rebate. County officials noted the legality of the action and expected legislative resolution.
