Bowhunting jamboree draws hundreds of archers in Iowa
About 500 archers from Towa and nearby states are expected at the Iowa State Bowhunting Jamboree in Endersfield hosted by the Waltonian Archers of Linn County. Registration times are set across Saturday and Sunday. includes a 3-D animal shoot with cross-day scoring. A cub division offers prizes for shooters age 11 and under, and meals are on site with camping reservations via Bob Frater.

LAS VEGAS AP The Nevada Athletic Commission approved a pay increase for local referees after a week long boycott. Executive director Jiro Deskin announced the new rates of 100 for nationally televised non title fights and 75 for preliminary bouts, up from 20 and 50. The raise allows referees to work the Friday Night Fight at the Tropicana and the Wednesday Strip Fight of the Week.
