Buddy Holly memory lingers at Surf Ballroom decades on
At Clear Lake Iowa, 20 years after Buddy Holly last played the Surf Ballroom, fans recall the Winter Dance Party stop that drew 1,200 to 1,500 people. They remember the star, the crowd, and the night before the Beechcraft Bonanza crash that killed Holly Valens and the Big Bopper.
