Boys forced to cap or cut hair at area pools
Washington area pools impose bathing cap rules on long haired boys to prevent hair from clogging filters. Kenmont in Wheaton set a 3 inch limit, Glenwood in Silver Spring enforces a similar rule, Fairfax YMCA uses 4 inches, and Belair Swim Club Bowie uses 3 inches. Many teens choose to cut hair or wear white racing caps while some opt to skip swimming.
