Community funds provide protective vests for Cedar Rapids dogs
Donors from Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas have raised about $9,750 for the Cedar Rapids K-9 program, funding protective vests for five police dogs and supporting area agencies’ canines. The effort, led by Dawn Bilden and the Police Auxiliary, includes volunteers and contributions from the Cedar Rapids Jaycees and others, with vests costing around $1,000 each and special cooling features for long shifts.
