Aging in place options expand independence for older Iowans
TRAIL of Johnson County promotes aging in place with home modifications and social programs. Dubuque offers an Age in Place grant up to 5000 dollars with occupational therapy visits to shape accessible home improvements. ADUs emerge as a mid path, with Iowa law allowing at least one accessory dwelling unit per single family lot to aid intergenerational living.
