Rescued 19 Americans after fierce jungle battle near border
In Vietnam near the Cambodia line, 11 North Vietnamese and 19 Americans were killed in a three hour clash as U S artillery napalm air strikes and helicopter gunships pounded jungle and trails. Pfc Andrew York 19 from Chelsea Maine escaped binding and triaged to join fellow wounded soldiers.
