Court Orders New Trials in Oil Case

The U S circuit court of appeals reversed the Madison Wisconsin oil trial convictions of five individuals and 12 corporations and remanded for new trials. The ruling hinged on the proper framing of restraint on interstate commerce and jury scope. Defendants named include R H McElroy Jr Charles V Arnott H T Ashton P E Lakin and Robert E McDowell. The action follows prior dismissals and new trials in the sprawling Sherman act prosecution. The government plans to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Allamakee Courthouse Equipment Is Ordered

The Klipto Loose Leaf company of Mason City won the courthouse fixtures bid for Allamakee County at 10,836.90 dollars.
