CCC veterans recall 1933 42 CCC service and Backbone campwork
Seniors remember the Civilian Conservation Corps experience from 1933 to 1942. Men 18 to 21 lived in camps, worked 74 hour weeks on conservation projects, and were paid by the government. Camp life mirrored military routine with uniforms, bugle calls, and Army-like discipline.
