Shutdown of Cedar Rapids Airport Next Week

Cedar Rapids Municipal airport will close to airline traffic from Wednesday through Saturday for an asphalt overlay on the intersection of the two runways. The east-west runway remains closed through Saturday for extensive work while the southeast-northwest runway handles all traffic. Johnson Leaves Hospital After Angina Episode

Former President Johnson was discharged from Brooke General Hospital in San Antonio after a three day stay for angina pectoris. A hospital spokesman said his chest pains did not indicate a heart attack and he returned by helicopter to his ranch.

Space Shuttle Contract Won by North American Rockwell

WASHINGTON AP North American Rockwell Corp Downey Calif won the multi billion dollar prime contract to develop the Space Shuttle. Willard F Rockwell Jr said more than 50 percent of the work will be outsourced to 10 000 subcontractors. The contract value about 3.5 billion and up to 160 000 jobs over six years. NASA chose Rockwell over three other finalists. Shuttles launch vertically from Cape Kennedy for civilian missions and from Vandenberg AFB for military flights.

Eagleton denial of drunk driving charges challenged
