A senior writer recalls Timberline Golf Course’s Demon's Run at Nos. 15 to 18. He describes 384 to 604 yard four par 4s and a par 5 with ponds, woods, and a hill challenge, praising the layout and the demon logo while noting his own scores on the closing holes.
A local golfer shares candid impressions of Timberline noting holes No. 15 and No. 16 for difficulty with strategic water and trees hazards. He singles out No. 6 as an odd but manageable par 5 with a downhill approach. Overall he has about 100 rounds, still chasing a sub 90.
A travelogue style piece praises Timberline Golf Course in Peosia Dubuque County. The author recalls driving from Ottumwa and Dubuque since 1994, sharing personal golf struggles, scenery, friendly staff, and the course challenge. It mentions tee times and fees, and hints at a 2006 tour ending with Marshalltown’s American Legion course.
The tips cover stroking putts with a triangle of shoulders arms and putter, listening for the ball to drop in the cup rather than watching, and making longer putts in two strokes or less by aiming for a target zone around the hole. The second putt should be a short three footer if you listen.
A detailed schedule of golf tournaments from late month through early next, listing event names, formats, participating clubs, and contact numbers. Includes Elks youth events, senior flights, Ryder Cup style formats, and mixed and ladies events across multiple courses with phone references for entry or inquiries.
