Third Set of Twins In One Family At 27 Month Span
A 20 year old Cedar Rapids mother gave birth to twins Friday night, her third set in 27 months. Parents Eugene and Judy Murphy welcome two boys born 10:47 and 10:55 p.m. Mercy hospital notes the 3 sets total six children, all healthy. The births mark a possible U.S. record with two more relatives also twins. Judy was 17 at marriage and plans to raise all six with help from Sister Camilla.

Hitchhiker Sighting Hobb er Slaying in Clutier
Special to The Gazette reports authorities in Tama County ruled the death of Fred Hober, 62, of Clutier, a murder. Hober was found dead in his car on a county road five miles east of Clutier around 10 p.m. Thursday, shot in the right temple. The gun and shells were missing, suggesting robbery or hitchhiker involvement. An autopsy was performed by Coroner Harvey Jones as state agents and Sheriff F. L. Flynn pursued clues, including a .32 caliber revolver analysis.

Thor Flight Ends in Blast After Early Launch Failure
