Air Conditioned Crops Boost Yields In Field Tests
Field tests at the Muscatine Island station near Fruitland show a solid set irrigation system cooling air soil and leaves. Fine spray towers reduce air soil and leaf temperatures by about six six and eleven degrees respectively, nearly doubling green bean yields and raising potato yields. Frost protection also improves when water is turned on during cold snaps.
