Iowa seeks granular maps to target rural broadband gaps
Iowa officials and industry groups discuss broadband gaps with 2016 data showing 90.5 percent of Iowa residents had 25/3 access and 77.4 percent in rural areas. BroadbandNow estimates 84.5 percent statewide and 21 percent underserved with 480 000 lacking 25 Mbps service. Experts call for street level mapping to identify where services exist and where not.
