White-Black salary gap persists despite gains by Black educated
UPI reports a Census Bureau finding that the white black income gap remained similar in 1972 and 1907 while younger college educated Black men earned far more relative to white peers. Black family income averaged 60 percent of whites in 1972, with regional gains for Black women. The study notes rising Black college graduates and persistent poverty, and migration patterns show older Black workers returning home. Archibald Cox expands his Watergate probe team with three veteran trial lawyers to handle the main case and 1972 campaign contributions.
