Problems Aplenty in Billboards
The Iowa billboard control law, effective July 1, creates a confusing, understaffed effort to regulate signs. By July 31 owners must file permit applications for each advertising face, with fees and pending rules, while enforcement and future nonconforming removals loom uncertainly and cite sign owners and lessees to act.
