Woman sails solo 2300 miles to Hawaii setting record
Sharon Sites, 34, a Los Angeles dental secretary and sailing beginner, completed a 2300 mile solo voyage from California to Honolulu in 40 days aboard the 25 foot Sea Sharp. She faced six days of 65 mile per hour winds and towed the final miles into Keehi Marina after being spotted by a fishing boat.
