A temporary truce halted activity in the Minneapolis truck drivers strike after police used shotguns during a Friday melee that wounded 60 to 68. National guardsmen restored calm while Mayor Bainbridge and Governor Olson blamed police and pickets for the violence. negotiations with Rev. Francis Haas dimmed prospects for an early settlement. Trucks moved again under armed convoyes with 60 to 70 officers nearby. officials warned military action remains possible if violence resumes.
Police express belief that Jonas Blanton, recently escaped from Camden, C, is the gunman who single handedly stormed the Governors Island post to free Melvin Blanton a 23 year old military prisoner. The escape along the Brooklyn waterfront in a rowboat followed Melvin's prior escapes from three other military prisons. The deliverer, a stocky ruddy faced man with a nickel plated revolver, evaded capture as Melvin vanished. Police seek both men with no trace available Saturday.
In Chicago on Saturday four armed bandits terrorized six men and two women at the Neiman Brothers Bakers' Supply office on the west side. They escaped with 7300 dollars in cash and other valuables.
Paul R Josselyn long time China official promoted from Shanghai to consul at Hankow China. He began as student interpreter in 1910 and rose through deputy consul general and secretary roles. His wife Jean Dudley and three children Marion Dudley Dudley Marjorie Lee are listed.

William Schictine, 45, farmhand for nearly thirty years, died from heat illness on Saturday afternoon on the Tom Doyle farm five miles east of Ryan Iowa. He complained of illness after field work and died minutes later. He is survived by a brother in Montana. No funeral arrangements have been made.
