AniMeals Originates in 2000 Supports Pets of Seniors
The program began when a Meals on Wheels volunteer saw a client give food to her pets and now serves over 350 clients and 638 animals including cats dogs birds and small mammals. It relies on volunteers grants and donations with help from Petco and Heritage Agency on Aging.

AniMeals Volunteers Gather Support for Pets in Cedar Rapids Area
The AniMeals program operates with 50 volunteers and 40 drivers who monthly deliver food to Cedar Rapids, Marion, and Hiawatha. It requests dry and canned cat and dog food, cage-animal food, gallon storage bags, cash for spay neuter and vaccinations. Donation bins sit at Petco Marion and Puppy Playground Hiawatha.
