Dance Marathon at Iowa: Students lead and fundraise
The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital relies on student volunteers in the Dance Marathon fundraiser now in its 16th year. About 1,900 students helped last year with hundreds more serving year round as hospital volunteers and morale boosters. Executive director Collette Forcier aims to raise the annual total to 2,500. The program began in 2005 to spur civic engagement and develop student leadership while supporting families facing pediatric cancer and bone marrow transplant care.
