Coralville eyes adviser to aid credit rating strategy
Coralville officials seek a contract with Springsted Inc. to help coordinate with Moody's and other rating agencies after Moody's downgraded several bond ratings. The nine week effort could cost up to 14000 dollars plus expenses. Mayor Kelly Hayworth and Finance Director Tony Roetlin back the move, arguing external expertise is needed to explain the city's finances and address rating concerns. Kevin O’Brien of Citizens for Responsible Growth criticized the plan, saying locals could handle it for free.
