A 25-year-old miner unearthed a 182-carat diamond in southeast Guinea near Ivory Coast and Liberia. The stone, four inches by 1.2 inches, was moved to Conakry’s guarded Central Bank while officials weigh the fortune. The finder relinquished it to authorities amid security concerns.
