Linn County jail responds to new standards and lawsuit
Linn County has begun implementing parts of proposed state jail standards after a federal lawsuit by two former inmates and county settlement costs. Changes include extended visiting times, individual cellblock telephones, a law library, exercise facilities, and added staff. Committees study whether a new jail is needed to meet requirements.
