James Worthy, head of the Chicago Nonpartisan Committee, insists the Democratic convention must stay in Chicago under a binding 40 page contract with the party and a nonprofit group. He notes the bid covers venues and parking but not communications. He cites $750,000 pledged by business and city funds, with $350,000 paid. Renewal talks continue on the electrical workers strike delaying setup.
