Hubbell Hart kick off tour for Iowa governor bid
In sweltering noon heat about 100 people gathered in Clinton County for the newly minted Democratic ticket. Fred Hubbell said he may not be the main attraction while Rita Hart welcomed congratulations and outlined campaign support. Hart, a retired educator from rural Clinton County, joins Hubbell to unseat Gov. Kim Reynolds with stops planned across 99 counties including Johnson Polk Marion and Pottawattamie. Supporters praised Hart as personable and effective, while Republicans question Hart’s rural pull. Hart plans statewide campaigning, with emphasis on Eastern Iowa.
