Crowne Plaza Reopens in Cedar Rapids After Flood Closure
Cedar Rapids Crowne Plaza partially reopens three fourths of its 275 rooms after five weeks of flood shutdown. General Manager Dave Hockenberry says seven of 10 floors were renovated during closure with new carpet and wall finishes. Steam power had been lost but partial service is restored. hotel expected to be fully booked within days as corporate guests return.

Former APAC building to reopen next week in Cedar Rapids
The 425 Building once known as the APAC Building will reopen early next week after about 700000 dollars in lobby and electrical damage repairs. Power restoration began July 10 and no ground floor tenant damage occurred. Renovations by Keener Construction created FEMA offices in the Fusion building at 4500 Wilson Ave. SW in two weeks with extra crews.
