Brent Oleson, 37, of Marion, chosen June 24 by Linn County Republicans to replace the ailing Mary Lundby on the District 4 supervisor ticket, pledges fiscal conservatism and fresh leadership. Oleson will face Democrat Don Gray in the November 4 election and aims to strengthen Cedar Rapids area representation and county road maintenance while pushing for the district to join the Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency Board.

He cites federal aid, bond options, privatization, and fee boosts as revenue paths and plans a focused session after recovery recommendations in September.
