Two lifers freed on parole from Iowa murders
Iowa state Parole Board released two of seven former life-term inmates after Gov. Ray commuted their sentences last year. Mary Lou Carstens, 34, paroled May 30 remains in Iowa. Dr. Edwin Goss, about 87, paroled June 20 and will live under Texas supervision.
