When to buy life annuities and start investing

U.S. industrial production rises in June

The Federal Reserve reports total industrial output up 0.7 percent in June after a 0.7 percent rise in May. Mining up 0.7 percent and utilities down 1.9 percent. Auto, machine and business equipment production increase, consumer goods rise slightly, while overall output remains 2.9 percent below June 2007 pre recession peak.

Gensler cites Peregrine collapse as regulator failure

U S futures regulator admitted the Peregrine Financial Group collapse exposed gaps in customer protection. Chair Gary Gensler told the Senate Agriculture Committee that new rules would give regulators direct access to broker bank accounts and pressed reform of self regulatory organizations.
