Council vows continued effort to pinpoint plant odors
Cedar Rapids officials and the Bertram Township Citizens Committee discussed odors from the city’s new pollution control plant. They may shift weekly meetings, with odor reports via a toll free reporting line and odor descriptions like rotten eggs or burned coffee. The grit room and clarifying tanks were cited as odor sources, and an incinerator restart is planned in four to eight weeks.
