Non-delay of brawl trial protested
Three men arrested after a May 20 brawl outside a Cedar Rapids tavern faced trial this afternoon. A spokesman for the National Conference of Black Lawyers warned denial of a continuance could jeopardize the defendants right to a fair trial. Defendants are Shawn Lee Franklin Edward Lee Williams and John Pledge with charges including interference with official acts simple assault and driving to the left of center.

Linn County road tour to assess Edgewood and Palo corridors
