Prime Target: Cedar Rapids 7-Eleven Robbery Spurs Fear
Pat Thormann, 21, worked the 1:30 a.m. shift at a Cedar Rapids 7-Eleven when a shirtless knife-wielding thief robbed her of cash from a register. Police urge multi-person night shifts and alarm lines. store managers cite tight margins and limited staffing as obstacles to added protection. The incident follows a spate of late-night robberies and calls to police since October 1975.
