Traffic study links lead in Cedar Rapids air
Coe College junior Dan Cowman leads a nine student air pollution team measuring metals in Cedar Rapids and nearby areas. The 11 week project tests for lead cadmium zinc iron copper and chromium and seeks how traffic weather and industry influence metal levels. Monitoring sites are in the city and at five traffic points with results to be shared with local health and planning officials.
