Ex Nun and Ex Marine First Women Detail FBI Training
Former nun Joanne Pierce and ex Marine Susan Roley become the FBI’s first two women to enter the special agent program. They were sworn in and began a 14 week training at Quantico, must qualify with pistol shotgun and rifle, and will earn the same $12,151 starting salary as male agents. Both bring years of service and education in history, with Pierce in clerical FBI work since 1970 and Roley discharged as a first lieutenant after Marine service.
