Solar panels rise at Indian Creek Nature Center Amazing Space
More than 300 solar panels were installed on Friday afternoon at Indian Creek Nature Center near its Amazing Space sustainable building set to open in September. The 105 kilowatt system, funded by Alliant Energy, will make the building net zero and feed excess power to the grid.

Court won’t review woman’s 2010 toddler death conviction
The Iowa Supreme Court denied a review of Amy Parmer’s 2013 involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment resulting in death convictions in Linn County. The ruling leaves Parmer facing up to 50 years in prison. The court also upheld Zyriah Schlitter’s related convictions, while Schlitter’s own child endangerment charge was later overturned for a new trial.
